TITLE: A PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST IS DEMANDED

Key Text: “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not” (John 1:10 KJV).

Many believers of today love to sing the same general song others are singing. They love to add their own voices to the already loud voice, but do not want to be distinguished or separated. The false preachers find it easy to deceive today's Christians because they have no personal knowledge of the Word of God. When asked who Jesus Christ is, many would not waste time answering. People would gladly respond by saying that Jesus Christ is their deliverer, healer, and provider, after all, they call upon His name all the time when they need help from Him. They run to Him when trouble and sickness knock at the door. To them, Jesus Christ is well known for all He does in their lives. Hebrews 13:8 KJV 

HOW DO YOU KNOW JESUS CHRIST? Many believers only know Jesus Christ as listed above. They only know Jesus Christ for what He does for them momentarily, but have no business with the eternal salvation that Jesus Christ brings. Knowing Him as a Holy God that demands all His children be holy is not on their agenda (1 Peter 1:15-16). Do you only know Him as a healer, deliverer, etc? Is that the only way Jesus Christ expects His children to know Him? No wonder He asked His disciples, “whom do men say that I am?" (Mark 8:27). Meaning, “how best do people know Him?” One cannot honour Jesus Christ above what he or she knows Him to be. Many give Him the honour of a healer, provider, defender, and that is all. Matthew 7:22 KJV 

KNOW HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH: Who is Jesus Christ to you? Peter knew Him as Christ, the Saviour of the world. Meaning, the one that has the key to life and death. Jesus Christ commended him for knowing him that way. No wonder He said, many shall be disappointed on the last day. Many would say they ate with Him, He healed them, taught them, but the Lord said He would declare to them that He never knew them, for they were workers of iniquity (Luke 13:26-27). The disciples told Jesus Christ what people knew Him for. Then, He asked them who they thought He was. Who is Jesus Christ to you personally? Answer it within and live in accordance with it. Matthew 7:21-23 KJV

Prayer: O Lord, my God, please let the Holy Spirit reveal Jesus Christ to me in a special way, that I might live my life for Him, in accordance with His revealed glory and to see His glory in Heaven at last, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

Reflection: “He came unto his own, and his own received him not” (John 1:11 KJV).
