TITLE: THE UNAVOIDABLE LIFE OF GODLINESS

Key Text: "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12 KJV).

Some people grew up in churches where they were taught to believe that being a child of God or being born again is access to a life void of suffering and pain. The majority of megachurch pastors, brainwash their followers into believing that life in Christ is all about enjoyment, and by doing so, siphoning money from their gullible followers. If we look carefully, we will understand what the Scripture in our key text is talking about. It makes us understand the reason most churches of today have decided to surrender to the devil. A majority of today's ministers of the gospel have willingly submitted to the world and its ruler, the devil, in order to avoid the suffering that comes through holiness and godliness. No one living a holy life will be free from persecution and attack from the world. 2 Corinthians 4:8-12 KJV 

GODLINESS ATTRACTS PERSECUTION FROM UNGODLY PEOPLE: Every true believer must prepare his or her mind to receive the bitter pills from the world and its ungodly inhabitants. Everyone living godly in an ungodly world must suffer rejection, frustration, unlawful imprisonment, and even death from those who hate Jesus Christ and what He stands for. Hence, Jesus Christ told His followers that they must be ready to face suffering and death in the midst of a world that seems flourishing and enjoyable. Matthew 5:10-12 KJV

DO NOT SEEK AN ESCAPE ROUTE FROM SUFFERING: There is no godly alternative route to Heaven; the only way is the way of the cross. Many believers want to put on the crown without the cross, hence, many have willingly given themselves to Satan. Have you bowed down to Satan to avoid suffering and to enjoy the damnable riches of this world? Remember, Satan also told Jesus Christ to bow down and worship him to gain the riches of this world. Glory be to God that Christ esteemed the pain He had to go through to redeem mankind, rather than enjoying the treasures of this world. Are you in a church where the pastors have bowed to Satan to buy jets and exotic cars? Your soul will be the return payment for the wealth they are enjoying if you don't run now and seek the Lord in spirit and in truth. Ask God to prepare you ahead of the suffering through the cross of eternal salvation. Mark 8:36-37 KJV 

Prayer: My Father and my God, have mercy and forgive me, in any way I have bowed down to Satan in order to avoid the suffering allocated to the children of God in this world. I receive the grace to carry my cross and follow Jesus Christ till the end, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

Reflection: "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you" (John 15:18 KJV).
