Topic: Do The Dead Really Rest In Peace (RIP)?
Key Text: Ecclesiastes 3:17 KJV - I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and every work.

We often wish our dead ones to rest in peace, but how many souls actually get to rest in peace after death? It's surprising that even those who die in the act of committing evil are being highly celebrated and accorded RIP wishes. Some are even given titles such as “heroes” and “heroines” because of what they died fighting for, in iniquity. Then I ask, “Do sinners rest in peace? Are there heroes and heroines in hell?” It is written, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone..." Revelation 21:8 KJV

Your Lifestyle Will Determine Your Place Of Rest After Death: As free moral agents, people have been given an opportunity to choose between good or evil and to live by their choice. But bear in mind that everyone's choice shall be rewarded accordingly. The life you choose to live while on earth will determine where your soul will rest when you die. In Luke 16:23, I believe the rich man was given a befitting burial and was accorded so many RIP wishes, meanwhile, he was undergoing torture in hell. Romans 2:8-9 KJV

Examine Your Life Again Before It's Too Late: Beloved, the only wages for sin is death. Sin is the only thing that takes people to hell, whether big or small. If you must know, no unrepentant sinner can rest in peace after death. It’s only those who are servants to righteousness that can rest in peace after death. Repent and surrender your life to Jesus if you truly want your soul to rest with the Lord after you depart from this world and into eternity. Romans 6:16-19 KJV

Prayer: O Lord, now I know that not everyone gets to rest in peace after death. Please, I repent today. Forgive me of all my sins, and help me to live my life in service to your will, in order to guarantee that my soul will rest with you in eternity, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
