TITLE: THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S

KEY TEXT: “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord” (Romans 12:19 KJV).

Anyone who tries to fight the devil and his agents while outside of God, is like a rat trying to fight for itself in the midst of cats. You and I know that such a rat would not live to tell the story of what it saw. God knows there is no man on earth who can fight Satan or his demons without His help. We all know that no one can plan or do evil to his or her neighbour without being motivated by unseen demonic forces. Ephesians 6:12 KJV

THE BATTLE IS BEYOND FLESH AND BLOOD: The war that believers are fighting is not the one the flesh can handle (it is totally spiritual). Every believer who wants to survive in the battle must avoid being carnal. Everything about Satan is spiritual, even though he might use human agents to fulfil his devilish purposes. We do not need to confront the human agents in battle, but the one who is working through them. Roman 8:8 KJV

TAKE IT TO GOD IN PRAYERS: Any battle fought on the knees in prayer is sure to come out in victory. Sadly, many believers today are too lazy to pray. They would rather go to one man to fight their enemies for them, by doing so, endangering their own souls. Never fight with your strength, no matter the offense or provocation. Take every battle to God in prayer, and He will fight for you and you will hold your peace. Exodus 14:14 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please help me to always take every battle to you in prayer, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7 KJV).
