TITLE: DO NOT COMPROMISE TO SEEK LOVE IN THE WORLD OF HATERS

KEY TEXT: “Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? Therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones the ways” (Jeremiah 2:33 KJV).

It is written in John 1:11 that Jesus came unto His own, and His own received Him not. Why? Because man, at that stage, was already a rebellious being, not wanting the truth that would change him from his enjoyable, damnable lifestyle of sin and iniquity. Man preferred to walk in darkness rather than light, according to John 3:19. That is why there is always a strong opposing force to anyone who believes in the gospel of Christ, especially in holiness and righteousness. In some cases, those who are not able to stand the opposition from loved ones (family members, friends, colleagues, etc.) stand the chance to compromise to belong and feel loved. The Lord told us in His word that if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable (1 Corinthians 15:19 KJV). So, seeking to be loved in an ungodly world is like filling water in a basket. John 15:18-20 KJV

GUARD WHAT YOU HAVE: Many children of God, because of what they are going through for the sake of Christ or what they are seeking to have, have abandoned their cross, assignments, godly identities, peculiarity, and uniqueness in Christ to seek love outside of Christ. Many forget they have been washed, cleansed, purged, and belong to the class of the saints in light and of the royal family of Christ, and they have sold out their godly inheritance by breaking the bond that connected them to Heaven through their ungodly way of life. Thus, fulfilling the Scripture that says, “But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.” Ezekiel 18:24 KJV

DO NOT SELL WHAT YOU HAVE: Have you been privileged to receive the genuine, free gift of salvation, yet everyone around you hates you because you are not who you used to be? Are you striving to make your ways right with God, yet those around you say you are overdoing it? Maybe you have become an object of mockery and people are calling you names. Do not sell what you have by trimming the standard God has taught and given you, just to buy the love of men. Remember, you have been separated and made unique to identify with Christ and the saints of God in light. So, your peculiarity must be distinguished, and your identity preserved to meet with a holy God and to dwell in His Kingdom. You must be born again to be identified with Christ. John 3:3 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, please have mercy on me and forgive me for trimming off the standard of life you taught me to seek love from others. Grant me the grace to preserve my identity in Christ till the end, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 KJV
