TITLE: ARE YOU BUILDING YOUR LIFE ON THE SOLID ROCK?

KEY TEXT: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock” (Matthew 7:24 KJV).

Everyone expects his or her habitation to be safe and secure. No one wants to be sleeping and see the house fall on him or her. Wisdom demands that a building should not be in a sandy area, or an area threatened by erosion, else the owner should be ready for catastrophe. Jesus Christ likens those who listen to His Word and do them to wise people who build on a rock. They are those who hear the Word of God, accept it, and bear fruits. They live their lives checked according to the principles of God's Word. Jesus Christ is that rock, and those who build on Him will never be destroyed because their roots are firmly built on the rock, which is Christ Himself. And because they are built on Christ, they will not be shaken even if the winds blew. The threats and storms of life cannot sweep them away because they are built on solid rocks. Matthew 7:24-27 KJV

ADVANTAGES OF BUILDING ON THE SOLID ROCK: Those who build on the rock (Christ) are being guided and protected by the Lord. The Lord will never leave nor forsake them, but He will be with them always and give them solutions to all their problems and troubles. The Lord will always answer them whenever they call and guide them into manifesting His divine purpose for their lives. The Lord will always order their steps and guide their ways so that they will not stumble. Those who build on the rock have the assurance of eternal life with the Father in Heaven. Psalm 37:23-24 KJV

SEEK TO KNOW GOD AND NOT MAN: When we seek to know the Lord and put our confidence in Him, our living on earth will be secured and making it to heaven, guaranteed. Unfortunately, these days, believers are seeking and putting their confidence in men and not God, forgetting that man's life can be taken away from him at any time. Why not seek to know God, who will always be there for you and can do the impossible that man can never do? His promises are ever sure and can never fail. He says what He will do and does what He says He will do. Joshua 23:14 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord God, I receive the grace to seek you and to know you, that I may build my life on you, the solid rock, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me” (John 15:4 KJV).
