TITLE: TURNING BACK ON SALVATION (PART 1)

KEY TEXT: "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?" (John 6:66-67 KJV).

One would think that everyone working for God or doing the things of God actually wants to know God. Many are shouting the name of Jesus Christ, casting and binding in His name, but they do not know Him and are not interested in knowing Him. They are fine with being busy, having activities in His name and making money and fame out of Him. You will see a man of God or someone you think is in love with God's work reacting furiously when the truth of the gospel is being told to him or her. It is a tragedy for someone to profess that he or she walks with Jesus Christ, the salvation-giver Himself, but then walks into eternal destruction. There was a time in the Bible when many of Jesus Christ's disciples went back and stopped following Him because they were offended by Him revealing the truth that He is the Bread of Life and the Blood of Redemption. It means that they were following Him to make a selfish gain out of Him, not to know the truth. John 8:32 KJV

CHECK YOUR WEAKNESS AGAIN: Most believers today hate to hear the truth; hence, one witnesses unnecessary anger and offences from church members every now and then because of the truth of the gospel that they love to see being kept from them. Most Christians today deliberately want to see the truth hidden from them to keep themselves happy in sin. The devil and his demons have seen this weakness in the lives of many Christians, and they are doing everything to get the children of God provoked and offended over nothing or over something that is meant to save their souls. Many believers get offended over things they should glorify God for. The spirits of greed and envy have entered the Church of Christ, and many of God’s children are falling prey to this. 1 Corinthians 3:3 KJV
 
PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please open my eyes to see where I have fallen from grace. Grant me the grace to make my ways right and return to you, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not” (John 8:45 KJV).
