Topic: Martha's Spirit In Today's Church
Key Text: Luke 10:40 KJV - But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, doth thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. Read 41-42

Beloved, what is your perception, regarding the scriptures above? Commencing from verse 40, we could see how Martha, compelled Jesus Christ, to force Mary to assist her in cooking and serving; rather than listening to the word of God. To her, she believes, she's doing a great job. Her interpretation, of making Jesus Christ happy; is to concentrate on the chores in the kitchen. She thought her sister Mary was lazy, and had to ask Jesus to tell her to give her a helping hand in the kitchen. What was Jesus's response? Jesus made it very clear to her that she's focusing on the irrelevant. Her engagement in overworking in the kitchen is unimportant at that moment. Mary, has focused on the most important thing. I can see Jesus saying, Martha, you've forgotten that, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God " Luke 4:4 KJV 

Considering Today's  Churches: Today, it's unfortunate, that most churches prefer Martha to Mary. Actually, it's  heartbreaking, that most Church leaders or pastors are not interested in the souls of their congregations; but, rather in the money that comes from them. There are many Martha spirit in today's church; busy pleasing their pastors, not caring about their own souls. Mary spirit, has been chased out in most churches of today; to give place to Martha's Spirit. Jesus is crying for the bread and butter  Churches of today 2 Timothy 4: 2-4 KJV 

You Need The Life Of God In You: Martha, occupied her time, with wanting to give food to Jesus Christ; while Jesus Christ was there to give her the food of the spirit that brings life. Majority of the churches and christians of today, are running after the physical food that last for a while; and not the spiritual food that last forever; which actually gives life. How many churches of today, have given place for Bible study in their church activities? Many  churches are worst than secular meetings. Most christians, don't even want to see the Bible; they seek miracle from the Owner of the word. Many pastors have merchandised the church; and many christians are after the irrelevant. Matthew 6:33 KJV 

Prayer: O Lord my God, grant me the grace to go after the needful things of the spirit; in order to keep my place secured in eternity in heaven; in Jesus mighty name, amen.

Reflection: And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. Luke 8:21 KJV
