TITLE: WHAT DO YOU HUNGER AND THIRST FOR?

KEY TEXT: “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6 KJV).

It is written in Ephesians 4:24, “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” The conviction and desire of a true, born-again Christian should be the constant hunger to please God in all that he or she does. I have seen preachers writing and singing about being holy, but they themselves do not have the fear of God to run away from sin. No one can live holy without the fear of God in him or her. The fear of God is the driving force that chases sin far from a man. Some believers, especially youths, want to be holy, even when they are right in a party hall with worldly music playing, while having irresponsible haircuts and being indecently dressed, even in their fornication and fraudulent activities. Many youths and adults speak in tongues in their chronic sin. They do not mind speaking in tongues while on their hospital bed committing abortion. Holiness is not about writing, preaching, or singing. It is about living daily in the fear, love, and obedience of God. John 7:37 KJV

They are thoughts to save humanity from the bondage of Satan, sin, self, and to give man eternal life. He showed this great love by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to the world to die for the sins of mankind. John 3:16 KJV

Life is all about options and decisions. God would never impose anything on anyone. He only presents options and would counsel His children on what to choose. It is left for the individual to follow God's counsel or not. He told the children of Israel to obey His instructions in order to have a safe journey to Canaan Land. Most of them chose to disobey and faced His wrath in the wilderness. 1 Corinthians 10:10 KJV

KEY TEXT: "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" (Genesis 2:17 KJV).

It is a pity that many believers do not know that God has policies that one should live by and be saved. Most of those who know the policies are making a mockery of them. One must understand that God is God. His policies to enter Heaven is true holiness and righteousness, and there is no alternative. Hebrews 12:14 said that no one can see the Lord without holiness. In Matthew 5:48, He told us to be perfect as the heavenly Father. You and I cannot change it. It is written: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8 KJV). Matthew 5:48 KJV

The foundation of the Christian faith is love. Everything that was done for the redemption of mankind was a result of the love that God had for humanity. The message of Christ during His earthly ministry was centred on love. Beloved in Christ, no one can prove to know God if he or she has no love in his or her heart for mankind. Every genuine Christian must possess the mind of Christ, and this could only be achieved by seeing others as Christ sees them. You are not a true believer if you could still do hurtful things to others or hurt others without considering how it would be if it was done to you. You are heartless if you could watch others cry without feeling their pain. Matthew 22:39 KJV

*The problem with this generation is the impartation of foolish wisdom from the devil. Many think they are wise enough to serve God and Satan at the same time. They claim to be serving God with their idols still intact. Many so-called men of god are witch doctors outside the pulpit and pastors on the pulpit. Many sisters in the choir are daughters of Zion in Church and Jezebel's daughters outside the church. Many young boys are God's army in the Church and Satan's workforce outside the church. King Jehoshaphat prepared his heart to seek God, and he took away the groves out of the land and God counted it as a good thing for him to do. Most believers of today want to seek God with worldly things intact. Many are seeking God with other gods around them, refusing to let go of the Adamic nature in order to allow Christ to take over completely. 2 CHRONICLES 30:19 KJV

It is written that we must through much tribulation enter into the Kingdom of God (Acts 14:22b). This is a no-go-area to most churches today. Believers want to enjoy the grace of God in pleasure, but are not ready to go through the suffering of the cross. Prosperity is the bedrock in most of today's churches, and anyone going through tribulation or suffering for Christ is regarded as not serving the true God or not serving God well in most hell-bound, prosperous churches. They forgot Jesus Christ said, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”Luke 12:15 KJV

KEY TEXT: “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning” (2 PETER 2:20 KJV).

Rendering any service unto God when one is not genuinely saved is like attending classes in a school without a valid admission requirement. No amount of study, hard work, or paying of fees would give him or her the desired results to become a graduate at the end. The institution would deny him or her of being a student at the end. You could paint the picture of what happened to everyone who died labouring in the Church, doing the ministerial works without being born again. The admission of every believer into the Body of Christ must be well processed, meaning one must be genuinely and convincingly born again to be admitted into the family of Christ. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 KJV
