TITLE: WHAT EMPOWERS YOUR MARRIAGE? 

KEY TEXT: “And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?” (Matthew 19:5 KJV).

Is your marriage fulfilling this passage of the Bible in the key text? Are you one flesh with your spouse as the Bible said? Beloved, the rings that one man of God put on your fingers or the children that came out of your union does not make you one flesh. I have heard some men and women say that the only reason they are still in their marriage is because of their children. Anyone who says this is ignorant of the Word of God and endangering his or her soul, because marriage is instituted first before children are born. Genesis 2:24 KJV 

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU HANDLE YOUR MARRIAGE: Are you aware that your marriage could either take you to Heaven or hell? It all depends on how you handle it. Remember that God instituted marriage by Himself, not man. I pity those who say that there cannot be a perfect marriage, even some so-called men of God say it. By that, they are saying that what God Himself instituted and blessed cannot be perfect. I concluded that many are saying it out of ignorance, selfishness, craftiness, or polluted minds of iniquity. Ephesians 5:31 KJV 

MARRIAGE IS SPIRITUAL AND SUPERNATURAL: The reason some spouses mistreat, cheat, or even think of divorce is because they are carnal and do not see beyond their physical bodies. Imagine God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost tolerating or divorcing one another. God forbid! Beloved, if you divorce your spouse in your mind, you are in danger of hell as one who divorced physically. A husband and wife are bound to celebrate each other in the fear of God, no matter the situation. Love and pray for each other, and sin not against each other. Matthew 19:6 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, open my eyes to see marriage the way you instituted it from the beginning, and take away every form of spiritual and physical pollution from my marriage, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4 KJV).
