TITLE: PATIENTLY POSSESS AND PRESERVE YOUR SOUL FOR HEAVEN

KEY TEXT: LUKE 21:19 KJV: "In your patience possess ye your souls."

One must have the spirit of patience in this race to Heaven. One might fall out of the race if he or she is not patient enough. A believer could be persecuted or thrown into prison. You must be strong and courageous, no matter what you are going through or what is passing through you for Christ's sake. You do not need to worry, rather count it as one of those things that will lead to your glorious testimonies and also catapult you to your eternity in Heaven. Always know that God is there to protect your soul in all situations. The Spirit of God is saying that our souls need to be nurtured and preserved for our eternity in Heaven. LUKE 21:12 KJV

WHATEVER IS WRITTEN CONCERNING YOU MUST COME TO PASS: Be reminded that others will hate you for no just cause. Why? Because of holiness and righteousness, your striving to please God will attract hatred. Even your own people will hate you, and in some cases, your Christian family, too. All this needs to happen for the gospel and the glory of God to be manifested through you. If you are to be hated or killed for the glory to be manifested, it would undoubtedly be done. There is nothing you or anyone can do about it. JOHN 9:2-3 KJV

LET YOUR PERSECUTION GLORIFY GOD: You are not to cry or lament when you are being persecuted for wrongdoing, because you deserve it. But if you do good for the sake of making Christ happy and people persecute you for it, take it patiently, knowing that the Lord is watching you, because He also suffered. Do not rejoice when no one is persecuting you, because it means you would have been hated if you were living differently to please God. If you are not being persecuted in your church, it means you and everyone else is living the same way. No one living for Christ would be loved genuinely by the children of this world. Check your lifestyle again. 1 PETER 2:19-20 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please give me the grace to carry the cross of following you in holiness till the end without looking back, no matter what may come my way, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” (JOHN 14:12 KJV).
