TITLE: THE COST OF FOLLOWING CHRIST (PART 6)

KEY TEXT: JOHN 3:30 KJV: "He must increase, but I must decrease."

The Lord is interested in your soul. You must be ready to suffer with Him and tell others about what He can do and also did while on earth. The Bible says that Christ was going about, getting people to the Kingdom. You must also love God more than yourself in any duty that He gives you. MARK 16:15 KJV

Any duty you receive from the Lord should be more important than your sleep or anyone you care about. He called you to serve Him and made you a savior, so that you can save other people’s souls. But if you put your problems or other things first, then you are not ready. Please do not be like the people who were only following Christ because of what they needed. JOB 23:12 KJV

SELF-EXAMINATION IS DEMANDED: Anyone who wants to walk with and work for God must be born again genuinely, letting old things pass away and making everything new. Jesus Christ is not ready to drag anyone with an old nature. Have you let go of your old character like pride, envy, jealousy, backstabbing, busybody, lying, craftiness, unforgiveness, etc.? Have a self-reevaluation to see if you have become new or are still your old self. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, I have deliberately decided to follow you and live for you. Please, grant me the abiding and finishing grace to follow you and finish well, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps" (1 PETER 2:21 KJV).
