TITLE: THE COST OF FOLLOWING CHRIST (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: ROMANS 8:5 KJV, “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”

The marriages of Christians and non-Christians are not the same. Couples who are not Christians could do whatever they like to make themselves happy. The spirit of Ananias and Sapphira can fully operate in non-Christian homes without boundaries. Husbands and wives can jointly do things together to make money or make things work for themselves in an ungodly way without the fear of God, but it is never the same in Christian homes. The fear and love of God governs the believers’ homes while the flesh rules in unbelievers’ homes. ROMANS 8:8 KJV

Christians and non-Christians do not value the same things. Non-Christians do not have to sacrifice anything for Christ or carry a cross daily. They can put anything and everything first, enjoying life to the fullest. But this is not so with true Christians. They must deny themselves and carry their cross daily. LUKE 9:33 KJV

You cannot repeat the cycle of carrying your cross for one day and then dropping it the next day. If that is what you do, then you are not fit for the cross. Whatever you start, you must improve in it. Stopping is not an option. Any Christian who is constantly being reminded or pushed to do something is not really a Christian. HEBREWS 10:38 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, help me to make my life and everything about me center on glorifying you, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen 

REFLECTION: “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (ROMANS 8:9 KJV).
