TITLE: REDEEMED TO RETURN TO HEAVEN

KEY TEXT: "And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers" (Deuteronomy 6:23 KJV).

What is in this world to gain or enjoy that would have made Jesus Christ come down from Heaven, suffer such humiliation in the hands of His creation, and die a vicarious death? It would have been a waste of time and unnecessary for Jesus Christ to come and die if He wanted Apostle Emmanuel Osezele to be able to buy a car, own a house, or be wealthy, which is what chronic sinners are enjoying even more than believers. Jesus Christ would have lived luxuriously during His time on earth to show us an example of how to enjoy the things of this world if that was the case, but He lived to point us to Heaven. Colossians 3:1-4 KJV

DO NOT WASTE YOUR UNMERITED SALVATION: It is so painful and heartbreaking to see that a majority of Christians are ready to leave the God who saved them. Most people do not even understand the meaning of salvation or the reason they were reconciled to God by the blood of Jesus Christ, that is, if they were saved from sin as they professed. Most believers never ask themselves what would have made Jesus Christ leave His glorious throne in Heaven and come to this sinful world to be arrested, judged, suffer, and killed by the sinful humans He created with His hands. Most believers are living to pursue what is irrelevant, killing themselves over things that will be enjoyed and left in this world to face eternity in hell if they die in sin. Mark 8:36-37 KJV

REDEEMED FOR GOD’S KINGDOM: The reason for redemption is for man to have his original place in the presence of God and to enter God’s Kingdom when his time ends in this world. The Israelites were brought out of Egypt by God, so that He might bring them into the promised land. It is a pity that most of the Israelites did not know the purpose of their freedom, hence, the majority of them were wasted in the wilderness. The same thing is happening to the Christians of today. Jesus Christ died to bring us out of sin and to God in Heaven. It is sad that believers are dying and going to hell everyday. Why? Because they do not know why they were saved. Instead of living to please God, they were pursuing earthly riches and living in willful sin, and they called on the name of Jesus Christ to fight their enemies, which they were to themselves living in iniquity. Romans 6:23 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, help me never to forget the reason Jesus Christ went through what He did on the cross of Calvary to save me from sin. Please give me the grace to live every day of my life in the fear of God, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”  (Romans 5:8 KJV).
