TITLE: FREE BUT COSTLY GIFT

KEY TEXT: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:38 KJV).

Salvation is viewed by most people as the cheapest thing one could easily get from the roadside. People walk in and out of salvation at will because they believe salvation is cheap and could be handled anyhow. It is a pity most people do not know that salvation is the most valuable gift anyone could have. It is a gift no creation could give, only God (John 6:44). Everyone on earth is given the privilege to access this gift to enhance his or her eternal living with God (John 3:16). Without salvation, an individual would have lived a wasted life, no matter what he or she achieves on earth. The purpose for which one is created is defeated without salvation. Anyone who is saved must strive very hard not to lose his or her gift of salvation received through the vicarious death of Jesus Christ. John 1:10-13 KJV

NONE IS SAFE WITHOUT SALVATION: Have you been able to answer the question: “What will it profit you, if you gain the whole world, and lose your soul?” If only you could see the rich and wealthy in hell to know what they profited for losing their souls. Child of God, the truth is that whether you are poor or rich, hellfire awaits you without genuine salvation in your life. Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ is the only sure way to eternal life in Heaven (John 14:6). I ask you, are you saved? Is your salvation genuine? Are you living the life worthy of living with Jesus Christ in Heaven? Have you not stained your garment which would have given you the right to eternal life? Remember that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord. Romans 6:23 KJV

DO NOT TRADE YOUR SOUL FOR TEMPORAL PLEASURES: Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, paid the price for the restoration of the souls of mankind with His own blood. There was no costlier price to pay for the redemption of humanity than the finished work of Christ on the cross. Beloved, no amount of money can buy salvation or be equated to a soul. It is a pity that most people love the perishable things of this world more than their own souls. Child of God, are you genuinely saved and living your life for the safety of your soul? Do not give up if it is a resounding yes. It may be painful to live such a lifestyle in this generation due to many things drawing one’s attention to the things of the world. Beloved, please check your salvation again and rededicate your life to Jesus Christ if you are not sure of your eternal life in Heaven. Romans 13:11 KJV

PRAYER: My Father and my God, have mercy upon me and restore my soul if I have mortgaged my salvation for the temporary pleasures of this world unknown to me. Grant me the grace to overcome the sins which easily beset me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1 KJV).
