TITLE: HOW GRATEFUL ARE YOU TO GOD? (PART 1)

KEY TEXT: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV).

Every child who understands the labour of a parent making sure that all his/her needs are met and that all is well with him/her from infancy to adulthood (in health, academics, finance, etc.,) to become independent will do his or her best to succeed in life to make the parents proud. Any child who fails to acknowledge the parents’ efforts, but goes as far as dishonouring the sacrifices of his or her parents and undermining them by living disobediently, is ungrateful. For it is written, “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Exodus 20:12 KJV

ARE YOU GRATEFUL TO GOD? Anyone who does not acknowledge the huge sacrifice on the cross and is living outside the life Jesus Christ died to give back to humanity in holiness and righteousness, is ungrateful to God. Christ died to redeem man back to his original place of holiness and righteousness in God that was destroyed through man’s disobedience in the garden of Eden. His justification of man, through His blood, restored man back to his inheritance. Colossians 1:12 KJV

STRIVE TO MAKE IT TO HEAVEN: It is written: “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14 KJV). So, can you now see that if your life is not in line with God’s holiness and righteousness, which Christ died to give, it means you are living a disobedient life, and denying your inheritance in God. It is written: "Be ye holy; for I am holy." It takes holiness to enter the Holy Kingdom of God. Remember, it is written that no unrighteous or defiled thing can enter the Holy City of God. Repent, and be holy for your eternal safety. 1 Peter 1:16 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please have mercy on me for being ungrateful to you by not living the life I ought to live for you. I repent today, and I plead for the grace to live my life for you from now on in holiness and righteousness, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day" (Genesis 1:31 KJV).
