TITLE: YOU CALL THAT CHURCH THE TEMPLE OF GOD?

KEY TEXT: “But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him” (Habakkuk 2:20 KJV).

I wonder what kind of churches we have in this generation according to the Scripture above. If the Church is really recognized as the temple of God, what are comedians doing there? How come when a preacher is preaching, the keyboardist and other instrumentalists are doing their own thing? Have you ever asked them what they learnt from the preaching? If I may ask, are they not supposed to be jotting down what the preacher is preaching? Is the time for preaching not supposed to be a time for sober reflection? What about those who are telling the preacher, “Ride on?” It is written, “The Lord is in His holy temple, let everything keep silence before Him (GOD), Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.” Ecclesiastes 5:1 KJV

THE CHURCH IS A PLACE OF SOBERNESS: Sir, Ma, the temple of God is a solemn place to be sober as it was during the time of the apostles of old. The people trembled when they were in the presence of God, but it is not so today because God is no longer in charge of many places called churches. Hell is loaded with Christians today because of the errors that those who call themselves men of God have allowed into the house of God. Do you know it is an error for a Christian to die and go to hell? The Church is a place where souls are to be prepared for Heaven and not hell, but it is like this today because the fear of the Lord and discipline has been taken away from the Temple of God. Proverbs 9:10 KJV
 
GOD’S HOUSE IS A PLACE OF PRAYER:  Matthew 21:13, “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” You who is reading this message, do you know that you are the temple of God? I hope you have not turned it into a drawing board of tattoos, make up, etc., just as many self-acclaimed men of God have turned the Church of Christ into a marketplace where handkerchiefs, water, hand-bands, and even the pictures of their pastors, etc., can be bought and sold. It is high time these errors in the churches are corrected before it is too late. Remember, church is a place where one goes to with joy, but at the end of the service, he/she goes back home in tears and pain unto repentance. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ into your life, please do so now, for tomorrow may be too late. Isaiah 56:7 KJV

PRAYER: My Father, my God, have mercy upon me, in any way I have joined hands to turn your temple into a place where you cannot dwell in anymore. Please, help me and give me the grace to put things right before it is too late, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
 
REFLECTION: “But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings”(Jeremiah 23:22 KJV).
