TITLE: DELIBERATE DIVERSION FROM CHRIST

KEY TEXT: “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21 KJV).

All the apostles of Jesus Christ and everyone who followed them preached the message that pointed everyone to the only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. None ever tried to make people forsake Jesus Christ to follow them. Peter and John quickly told the people that it was in the name of Jesus Christ that the lame man by the beautiful gate was healed in Acts 3. But everything suddenly changed when greedy men, who sold their souls to Satan, came in. Jesus Christ came so that men can return to God through genuine repentance from their sins and have faith in Him, the Lamb, who was slain and is the only way by which man can get to God Almighty. John 14:6 KJV. 

The men on the pulpit are becoming the focus of their followers: It is written in Hebrews 12:2 that we should look unto Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. He is the only way by which men can seek the Kingdom and its righteousness. It is unfortunate that most believers today seem to be much closer to their idolized men of god than Jesus Christ. Most so-called believers do not know anything about seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. All they know is to ask their “papa” to pray for and prophesy on them (Matthew 6:33). It is so heartbreaking that the original message is missing in the Church. Most Christians will not hear the message of repentance for months, some in a year, while others do not even know what is called salvation or repentance. The Holy Spirit that would have convicted people to repentance has been replaced by the spirit of Satan in churches. All you now see in most churches are prophecies and deliverance without the corresponding Word of God. Acts 19:20 KJV  

Genuine repentance and faith in Christ alone is demanded: Most people who go to church see the man of God as the reason for going to church, because he has succeeded in turning their hearts from Christ to himself. What most churches experience as “God’s presence” is a deceptive spirit. How does the Church expect the Holy Spirit to dwell in it when the people do not see anything wrong in living in sin, or as long as the papa is okay with what the people are doing, even if it is wrong in the sight of God?! My beloved in Christ, I fear many Christians will end up in hell if they keep living with their eyes closed against the true Word of God, covering their sins, and running after prophecies in their iniquities. Child of God, check yourself now and see those things pushing you against God and sending you to hellfire. Repent, because what is ahead of you in hell is unbearable. Ezekiel 18:20 KJV 

PRAYER: I repent of all my known and unknown sins today. Let whatever I have used to cover my sins uncover itself now for the blood of Jesus Christ to purge me and strengthen my faith in God alone, as I journey with the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9 KJV).
