TITLE: YOU OWN NOTHING 
 
KEY TEXT: “For who maketh thee to differ from another? And what hast thou that thou didst not receive? Now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? (1 Corinthians 4:7 KJV)

Until one realizes that all things are God’s and remain God’s, laying claim on anything on earth that one met and would definitely leave behind, is unwise. The devil laughs when he sees human beings killing themselves over temporary things of this world. It is sinful and foolishness to boast or think we actually own anything for ourselves. It is written, “What do you have that was not given you by God?” If what you have was given to you by God, why don’t you use it to glorify the Giver and to be a channel of blessing to others?  Proverbs 3:9-10 KJV

BE MINDFUL OF POSSESSIONS: Jesus Christ warned that anyone who values anything on earth more than Him is not worthy of Him. Can you now see why a majority of Christians are ending up in the same place with unbelievers? Many believers end up in hellfire because of the value they gave to their possessions. They valued what was given to them more than the Giver of it. This is one reason men of God hardly end up in Heaven, since they easily forget the Giver of the gift of the Holy Spirit, and become an idol to those God gave them the gift to be a blessing to. Most men of God become lord over what God gave them to look after for Him, and many have abandoned God’s work to face material things. That is one easy way to enter hellfire quickly. Luke 12:18-19

GIVE BECAUSE IT WAS GIVEN TO YOU BY GOD: My heart bleeds when I hear some men of God saying they have to do what they are doing because they paid the price for their anointing, when our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, told us that freely we were given anointing, and freely we must give it out. It is applicable to everyone and in all things. I see some believers lending money to people to pay them back with interest, even some churches do it to their members. This is wickedness! It is written that we should give and not ask for it in return. Have you ever lent anything to anyone with interest attached? You must go for restitution, or else the gate of Heaven may not be opened for you. Give your life to Jesus Christ if you are not born again. Luke 6:35 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, have mercy on me and forgive me, in any way I have valued what you gave me more than you the Giver. I surrender it all to you today, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again” (Proverbs 19:17 KJV).
