TITLE: THE “LOT'S WIFE” GENERATION

KEY TEXT: “Remember Lot's wife” (LUKE 17:32 KJV).

Most of today's believers are either like Lot's wife or worse than her. Jesus Christ compared the heavenly race of fleeing this world of sin into Heaven, to Lot and his family fleeing Sodom and Gomorrah to the mountain for safety. Hence, Jesus told us (the believers) to remember what happened to Lot's wife and take heed, so that we do not fall victim to her damnation. Just as today's believers, Abraham, a friend of God, interceded for Lot’s wife and her family. She had a righteous husband by her to flee with, along with physical angels holding her hands to escape the wrath of God, yet she perished because of her stubbornness and love for Sodom and Gomorrah. Mark 8:36-37 KJV

YOU ARE WARNED JUST AS LOT'S WIFE WAS WARNED: The Lord knows how stubborn the Christians of this generation are, and their passionate love for the things of the world. Thus, He warned us to remember what happened to Lot's wife. But it is a pity that most of this generation of Christians have no memory to remember the past and learn from it. All they know is, “papa said, the man of God said, the prophet said.” The Word of God has no place in their lives, just as the warning by the angel had no place in the heart of Lot's wife. Believers of today have the Bible available with them to read, the Holy Spirit to teach and guide them, and the blood of Jesus Christ to help them make it to Heaven, yet they are dying and falling into hellfire like frogs jumping into a river. Hebrews 9:27 KJV

CHECK YOURSELF AGAIN: Kindly answer this question within yourself: What side of eternity would you have been if you had died before now? Know that God is a righteous judge and nothing unholy is allowed into God’s Kingdom. Where would your lifestyle have sent you to? How steady are you in Christ to escape as Lot and his two daughters that focused on their escape to the mountain without looking back to their past in Sodom and Gomorrah? A majority of Christians are on their way to hellfire because of carelessness, stubbornness, worldliness, deliberate rebellion against the truth of the gospel, disobeying the Holy Spirit, and because of their love for hell-bound men of god, giving them false hope and leading them to hellfire. I fear because it will be more tolerable for Lot's wife than for the believers of this generation. Luke 17:33 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please have mercy and forgive me for all my disobedient and rebellious life of the past. Lord, please deliver me and all your children from the end-time spirit of damnation that is making believers see the narrow way to Heaven, yet deliberately walking into hellfire. I receive the grace to resist the end-time spirit of Lot's wife, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
