TITLE: YOUR CASE IS DIFFERENT

KEY TEXT: “When ye have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you” (Joshua 23:16 KJV).

Most believers wonder why the wicked are prospering in their wickedness. Some ask why the Muslims are prospering, even when they do not serve God the way believers do. You may ask, “Why does it seem like God favours the Muslims more than the Christians when it comes to earthly blessings?” You may have even lived with an unbeliever, Hindu, Muslim, etc., and saw them making it effortlessly and flying like an eagle in prosperity while you keep moving from one fasting and prayer to another, trying to make things work, yet things are not working as you desire. Then you begin to wonder why? The answer is that you are under the covenant of Isaac with God. Ishmael had no covenant with God, hence no law is binding him. Genesis 17:1-27; Jeremiah 31:31 KJV

YOU ARE A COVENANT CHILD OF GOD: Christians are covenant children of God, and they live by the covenant principles. You know that a covenant is two-sided and both parties are bound to keep the covenant to make things work. Christians are expected to follow the covenant rules to access the blessings of God. Unfortunately, most Christians do not even know that they are in covenant with God, not to talk of knowing the binding principles. God always reviews a believers' obedience to the covenant to answer their prayers, hence, the Bible says, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled” (2 Corinthians 10:6 KJV). Believers have no shortcuts to access God's blessing. One’s life must be pleasing to God to access His blessings as a covenant child. Matthew 5:48 KJV

THEY HAVE NO HOPE OF ETERNITY WITH GOD: The reason you are different from the Muslims and other people (those who always find the things of this world easy to them) is because you are not of this world. Unlike the others, you have eternal hope in Heaven with God. The Muslims have no covenant with God, likewise other religions. Nothing is standing between them and the blessings of this world. They do not need to present anything to be blessed, but you will have to show God your obedience to His Word in order to get His consent to His blessing. The devil has nothing to accuse the Muslims of because they have no covenant with God, nor do they have eternal hope. Only the royal priesthoods, the holy nations, and the peculiar people, who use their lives to show forth the praises of God, can enter Heaven through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ. So, do not be envious when sinners prosper, because they will soon be cut off eternally unless they repent, accept Jesus Christ, and join the covenant of grace. Be more concerned about making it to Heaven than enjoying the temporary pleasures of this world. 1 Peter 2:9 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, I repent from being envious of those who have no eternal hope with you. I receive the grace to keep my side of my covenant with you in total obedience to your Word, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Jeremiah 31:33 KJV).
