TITLE: STRIVE AGAINST THE UNFORGIVING SPIRIT

KEY TEXT: “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye” (Colossians 3:13 KJV).

Unforgiveness is a devilish spirit that one should earnestly pray against. It is a spirit that comes directly from Satan and into its victim, and it is the fastest of all demonic spirits that can turn one into God’s enemy in a second. Moreover, it is a spirit that opens the gates of hell easily and directly fights against what Jesus Christ stands for, hence, anyone who dies with it goes straight to hellfire. Every genuine believer should not wait until the message of forgiveness or unforgiveness is preached to him or her before he or she knows the importance of forgiveness and how deadly the unforgiving spirit can be in the life of any believer possessed by it. It is unfortunate that most believers in this generation are stone-hearted believers who see the Word of God as a film or normal story book. Hebrews 12:14 KJV 

UNBELIEVERS ARE BETTER THAN MOST BELIEVERS: However, note that no matter how an unbeliever is good, loving, caring, and forgiving in heart, his or her end is hellfire according to the Word of God. His or her unbelief has done the damage already; but, it is amazing to know that most believers who think they are saved are more hardened in heart than most unbelievers in the area of showing mercy and forgiveness. Forgiveness has been deleted in the hearts of some believers. Repent while you have the chance to do so. Luke 11:25 KJV 

UNFORGIVENESS DRIVES THE HOLY SPIRIT FAR FROM BELIEVERS: How can a man of God be bold to climb the pulpit to preach about Jesus Christ, who died to forgive us our sins, and command us to love and forgive one another, and yet is keeping malice in his mind? Some brethren can be in the same congregation, having issues for days, weeks, months, or even years without talking to each other. I wonder the kind of Heaven they are going to with their devilish minds. Learn to forgive and forget. Matthew 18:21-35 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, please take away the spirit of unforgiveness from your children. Open their eyes of understanding, that they might understand what Jesus Christ died for, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” (Matthew 6:12 KJV).
