TITLE: DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE LITTLE FOXES

KEY TEXT: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” (2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV).

The things that normally send well-known and heavenly-minded believers to hell are the little sins that they underestimated. Many who thought they were already in Heaven, found themselves in hell after death and were surprised what they were doing in such a place that they never bargained for. That is why Apostle Paul, through the help of the Holy Spirit, gave a very wise and important advice to all the believers to examine themselves to see whether they are in the faith. Most professing believers are not actually born again, nor are they in the faith. Many had long fallen away, thinking they are still standing in the faith. Many have had their names removed from the Book of Life unknowingly, but still acting as Christians, even when the gate of hell is wide open for the careless souls and sinners. So many feel too big or too important to examine themselves and make amendments if found wanting. 1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV

GUARD YOUR SALVATION JEALOUSLY: Many believers do not understand that it is easier for one to lose his or her salvation than to receive it. Those little things that one takes to be nothing can make one lose his or her salvation. You have heard about the little foxes that spoil the vine. One thing some believers fail to understand is that where big sin would take one to is the same place where little, undermined sins also take people to. Learn to examine your stand with God every day. Song of Solomon 2:15 KJV

PRIDE IS THE NUMBER ONE AGENT OF HELLFIRE: I wonder if some believers actually know what hellfire is, or if some believers actually love Jesus Christ as they profess. If one knows the pain in hell or actually loves Jesus Christ, he or she would do everything to stay clean or learn to ask for mercy all the time openly and secretly. But some believers, especially the men of God, are too proud to admit their wrongs or confess before their congregations. Please examine yourself daily, and surrender to Jesus Christ if you are not born again. Proverbs 16:18 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, please examine me all the time to know where I am missing it. Grant me the grace to examine myself and beg for mercy openly or secretly if found wanting, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
