TITLE: SIN WILL NAKED YOU

KEY TEXT: “And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden” (Genesis 3:8 KJV).

No one would venture into sin or commit iniquity if he or she knew the implication of sin. Sin is worse than an atomic bomb, and could sink the whole world and drag all to hellfire in less than thirty minutes. Sin turns people insane, as only an insane person will be naked and walk on the street without shame. Adam and Eve were people who enjoyed the company of God’s presence as children that God loved so much and delighted to commune with them. The Bible said that God would come to them and have fellowship with them, and this fellowship was on as long as holiness and righteousness was in place. The voice of God was what Adam and Eve always longed to hear, but the same voice of God became a sound of terror in their ears the moment they sinned against God. The presence of God which they used to enjoy became what they ran away from, as soon as sin came in. Isaiah 59:2 KJV 

UNREPENTANT SINNERS CAN ONLY PRETEND AND MANIPULATE: There is no way a sinner can enjoy God’s presence. A pastor who is sleeping around with his church members or committing all kinds of sin may say he is happily doing God’s work and performing damnable signs and lying wonders. He may be pretending to the congregation, but war is going on within him because of the torment that sin brings. The presence of God is God Himself. If Adam and Eve could not behold God’s presence in sin, no one on earth can. Sin robs one of God’s presence and glory and turns its victim into an empty drum or a misled, manipulative dog. Isaiah 59:1-3 KJV 

ALL SINNERS ARE VULNERABLE AND NAKED: As long as Adam and Eve were holy, they were clothed with the glory of God; but the very day sin entered into their lives, they became naked. No matter how rich a sinner is, he is exposed, naked and destitute. No wonder all souls in hellfire are naked. Are you living in sin? You better repent now because you are exposed to Satan. He can destroy you at any time and send you to hellfire, where you will be naked and tormented forever. Give your life to Jesus Christ if you are not yet born again. Isaiah 47:3 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord, please have mercy on me, in any way I have allowed sin to separate me from your presence. Take me back to your holy presence and keep me there through your mighty power, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I [am] holy” (Leviticus 11:45 KJV).
