TITLE: THE POWER OF GRACE IN HOLY LIVING

Key Text: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, (12) Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (Titus 2:11-12 KJV).

One could clearly understand according to Titus 2:11 what the grace of God is meant to do in the life of a believer. In relation to the Word of God, we could conclude that grace is a teacher, whose main subject is to differentiate good from bad, worldliness from godliness, righteousness from unrighteousness, and purity from iniquity. We learnt from grace that one cannot be a sinner and a saint at the same time. Sadly, some professing believers of this generation are so crafty, thinking they could live worldly and godly at the same time. It is very painful to say that what matters most to God and the Holy Scriptures is not of great importance to so many Christians of today. Romans 6:1-2 KJV

ARE YOU FOR THE WORLD OR FOR GOD? So many Christians are so ignorant to the fact that our God is a jealous God. Anytime we get ourselves involved in worldly affairs, not minding our peculiarity in Christ, we make God jealous, hence, pushing Him to anger that we wouldn't be able to bear if His wrath is poured out against us. We must be wise enough to obey the Scripture that says: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15-16 KJV). It is clearly stated that we cannot love the world and be godly at the same time. The Word of God says that the love of God is not in anyone that has the love of the world in him or her. It is sinful and rebellious, regardless of how little the love of the world is in the heart of a believer. It is time to make a decision today on who to love and serve; the world and its lusts or God and His love. Psalm 4:3 KJV

SUBMIT TO THE HOLY SPIRIT: Do you want to live a godly, Christian life? You must learn to walk in the spirit at all times in order not to fulfil the desires of the flesh. One must be in spirit and walk therein not to be overpowered by the works of the flesh and damn one's soul in hellfire. It is written that the flesh and the spirit are constantly at war against each other. Every believer is expected to join the spirit, and to continually walk in the spirit. One would have to be watchful, prayerful, avoiding every appearance of sin, and be closer to the Word of God. It is written: “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16 KJV). Please, accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour if you are not yet born again. John 3:3 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, grant me the grace to always overcome worldly lusts, and empower me to live my life for you alone in complete obedience to the Word of God, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV).
