Topic: Aiming for the Crown without the Cross 

Key Text: 2 Corinthians 4:17 KJV - For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
 
We are in a dangerous generation in which everything seems dangerously easy to get with little or no labour. I listened to an advert in which the advertiser was saying that one could earn money while sleeping through them. All one needs to do is sign up with them and start earning money, even while sleeping. The devil and his agents are doing everything to undermine God's Word, standing against what the Word of God stands for. It is written: "...if any would not work, neither should he eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). "Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man." Proverbs 6:10-11 KJV 
 
So many believers have been influenced by the world. With the world, all things that are sinful and damnable are possible. The man of the world could do anything to earn money; a boy of 18 years old could own a property worth millions with no reasonable source of income, yet would be celebrated by men, but unacceptable to God. One must be able to give cogent reasons for God to bless him or her. Laziness is a crime against spiritual elevation; anyone who expects God to manifest through him or her must be ready to work hard. 
 
No Success without Suffering and No Crown without the Cross: Many children of God have given themselves to false hope, believing they could enter the Kingdom of God without being genuinely saved. They believe God is like their pastors, who don't care about their salvation, as long as they're able to give offerings and support the church. No. God doesn't need your support in Heaven; all He needs is your pure and holy garment of salvation. Everyone must present his or her service and cross of suffering at the gate of Heaven to receive a crown of glory. Do you have your cross? Are you genuinely born again? Run to Jesus Christ now if your answer is no. Matthew 10:38 KJV
 
Prayer: O Lord God, please have mercy and forgive me for ever trying to make success without suffering for you, and trying to get a crown at last without the cross. Grant me the grace to suffer for you and to hold on to the cross till the end, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 
 
Reflection: But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10 KJV
