*TITLE: THE DANGER OF BEING ENVIOUS (PART 3)*

*KEY TEXT: LUKE 12:15 KJV: “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”*

*James reminds us that where envy exists, confusion and every evil work is present. This shows how destructive envy can be, creating division, discord, and chaos. In contrast, the wisdom that comes from above is pure, peaceable, and full of mercy. "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work" (JAMES 3:16).*

*The Bible encourages us to lay aside envy, along with other sinful behaviors, as part of our spiritual growth in Christ. By doing so, we reflect the character of Christ and live in harmony with others, free from the destructive power of envy. "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings (1 PETER 2:1).*

*Finally, as we strive to overcome envy, we must seek the help of the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live godly. Only through the Spirit can we put to death the deeds of the flesh, including envy, and live in the freedom and peace that Christ offers. "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh" (GALATIANS 5:16).*

*PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, endow me with the Holy Spirit, and let the Nine fruits of the spirit be complete in me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.*
