TITLE: DIVINE RESTORATION

KEY TEXT: Isaiah 61:7 KJV: “For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.”

INTRODUCTION TO DIVINE RESTORATION:
Divine restoration is the process by which God brings us back to our original purpose, renewing and revitalizing what has been lost, broken, or damaged. In the Bible, God’s restorative power is displayed throughout His dealings with His people. From the fall of man to the redemption in Christ, God is in the business of restoring His children. Joel 2:25 says, "And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you."

GOD’S NATURE OF RESTORATION:
One of the key aspects of God’s nature is His desire to restore. In the Old Testament, God repeatedly restored the Israelites after they had fallen into sin and rebellion. He promised them restoration if they turned back to Him. As Jeremiah 30:17 declares, “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord …” This verse shows us that God is not only willing to heal physically but also restore emotionally and spiritually. 1 PETER 5:10

RESTORATION THROUGH REPENTANCE:
Restoration often begins with repentance. When we acknowledge our sin and turn back to God, He is faithful to restore us. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” True restoration is grounded in a heart that seeks God earnestly. 1 JOHN 1:9

PRAYER: Father, please, in your mercy, restore to me the wasted years of my life, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: Acts 3:19 KJV: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
