TITLE: THE CUNNING NATURE OF DECEIT (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: Proverbs 10:9 KJV: “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”

Proverbs 6:16-19 lists things that the Lord hates, including "a lying tongue" and "a false witness that speaketh lies." This list underscores the detestable nature of deceit and its place among the most grievous sins. Deception is an act of wickedness. A deceiver has no place in the Kingdom of God because only the pure in heart can see God and enter His Kingdom. MATTHEW 5:8 

The Holy Word of God also offers hope for those who have been deceived. John 8:32 promises, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This assurance speaks of the liberating power of truth in overcoming deception and living a righteous life. Knowing the truth of the Word of God and applying it brings freedom from all forms of deception going on in the end-time churches. JAMES 1:22

Child Of God, in Psalm 34:13-14, believers are advised, "Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." This exhortation sums up the biblical call to a life of integrity, truth, and peace, rejecting all forms of deceit. EPHESIANS 5:3 

In summary, the Bible consistently warns against deception, highlighting its destructive effects on individuals and communities. By valuing truth and seeking divine wisdom, believers can guard against deceit and live in a manner that honors God.

PRAYER:  O Lord, my God, let the spirit of the truth of Your Word take over me and every believer to be able to overcome the chronic force of deception going on in the world, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.  

REFLECTION: Romans 12:2 KJV: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
