TITLE: THE POWER OF HUMILITY (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: Micah 6:8 KJV: “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

The Book of Isaiah emphasizes the need for humility before God. Isaiah 57:15 declares, "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones." God dwells with the humble, bringing them renewal and revival. But He detests pride and arrogance. God has no place in the life of the proud. EPHESIANS 4:2

Paul’s own life reflects a journey of humility. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, he recounts the Lord’s words to him: "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." Paul concluded, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." Here, Paul found strength and grace in acknowledging his weaknesses and relying on God. PHILIPPIANS 2:3

Finally, Ephesians 4:2 urges believers to live with humility: "With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love." This call to humility is foundational to maintaining unity and peace within the body of Christ. The scriptures consistently highlight humility as a key attribute for believers. Through examples, teachings, and promises, the word of God reveals that humility brings us closer to God, enriches our lives with wisdom and grace, and aligns us with God’s will, leading to true exaltation in His time. 1 PETER 5:5 

PRAYER: Father, let pride and arrogance be far away from me, and help me to always acknowledge you in all that I do, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: EPHESIANS 2:8 KJV: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
