TITLE: THE POWER OF HUMILITY (PART 4) 

KEY TEXT: MATTHEW 23:12 KJV: “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

In the New Testament, Paul instructs the Philippians to emulate Christ’s humility to be able to draw people to their faith. Philippians 2:3 says, "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than themselves." This Bible verse calls for a church, family or community where humility prevails, fostering mutual respect and unity. JAMES 4:6

Proverbs 15:33 links humility with the fear of the Lord: "The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility." It suggests that a proper reverence for God naturally leads to humility and ultimately to honor. I have never seen anyone that sincerely humbled him or herself that ended in shame, humility always ends in honor and greatness. JAMES 4:10

Jesus Christ’ washing of the disciples’ feet in John 13:14-15 serves as a  lesson in humility. He said, "If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." This act exemplifies servitude and humility as essential traits for His followers. 2 CHRONICLES 7:14 

PRAYER: Gracious Father, please let the mind of humility that is in Christ Jesus be given to me, that I may be able to do those things that please you always, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen 

REFLECTION: PROVERBS 22:4 KJV: By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
