*TITLE: LIFESTYLE VOID OF HYPOCRISY IS DEMANDED*

*KEY TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:5 KJV: "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."*

*Hypocrisy is a significant theme addressed in the Bible, and the scriptures offer profound insights into its nature and consequences. In the book of Matthew, Jesus Christ openly condemns the Pharisees for their hypocritical behavior, saying, "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness" (Matthew 23:27). This vivid imagery underscores the stark contrast between outward appearances and inner reality, a hallmark of hypocrisy.*

*The Old Testament also highlights God's dislike for hypocrisy. In Isaiah, the prophet rebukes the people of Israel for their insincere worship, stating, "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me" (Isaiah 29:13). This passage emphasizes that genuine devotion to God is a matter of the heart, not merely of external rituals.*

*Furthermore, hypocrisy is portrayed as a barrier to true faith and righteousness. James, the brother of Jesus, writes, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" (James 1:22). This verse challenges believers to align their actions with their professed beliefs, avoiding the self-deception that accompanies hypocrisy.*

*PRAYER: Father, please deliver me from all forms of hypocritical attitudes for the safety of my soul, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.*
