TITLE: MOUNTING UP WITH WINGS AS EAGLES

KEY TEXT: Isaiah 40:31 KJV: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Our heavenly Father never grows weary or loses strength. Though young men faint, our God is always in control. The strength of a man during his youthful age enables him to do certain things, yet somewhere along the line, he can still faint and be tired. The Lord's strength, however, is always constant. Isaiah 40:28 KJV

The strength for us to run the Christian race to the end is not by our own power. We need the power from Heaven for us to stand firm to the end. The eagle is one of the strongest birds. It can fly many miles above sea level at tremendous speeds, and with its sharp eyesight, it can catch prey from the ground and go back in the air. It is not afraid and is always ready to attack and defend its young. Deuteronomy 32:11 KJV

No matter what we go through, we need to be like the eagle and know who we are inside of God. As a believer, you are the apple of God's eye, and nothing can harm you if you trust in God and hold on to Him. In Deuteronomy 32, Israel had no strange gods with them (no native doctors, earrings, women putting on trousers, tattoos, fetishes, etc.). Sadly, we have Christians today who have one leg in the Church and another in the world, looking for help where it does not exist. Deuteronomy 32:9 KJV

PRAYER: Almighty God, please empower me to trust in your strength and put away any strange gods that will prevent me from soaring like an eagle, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's” (Psalm 103:5 KJV).
