TITLE: OBEY GOD AND LIVE 

KEY TEXT: Psalms 81:15 KJV, “The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.”

The key text gives us understanding of the importance of submitting to God and also the consequences of disobeying His laws and ordinances. What is submission? It means to yield or give way to another. To submit to God means to yield to His authority; to fully surrender; to end all resistance. For us to have the life of God in us, we must surrender to His will concerning our lives. God knows what is ahead of us that we do not know; therefore, yielding to His Word means getting life from God for self preservation. MATTHEW 7:21-23 KJV 

Just As Adam And Eve: The Lord told Adam and Eve to obey Him and their lives would be preserved. He told them the consequence of disobeying Him would be death, and life was taken from them the very day they disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit. Many people are living but dead already. The Bible says, “Honour thy Father and Mother, which is the first commandment with promise, That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” If disobeying our earthly parents could lead to cutting short of one's life, think of disobeying the Almighty God. EPHESIANS 6:2-3 KJV

Hating and Disobeying God Means Hating One's Life: The Bible says that the haters of God should have submitted themselves to Him for their lives to endure on earth, and to have a place in God's kingdom. We must submit to God to show Him how much we love Him (John 14:15). Beloved, it is out of hatred for Jesus Christ that made humanity to be committing whoredom and other grievous sins to provoke God to anger to their own damnation. ROMANS 1:18-29 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, let the life of obeying your Word be released upon me, as I submit to you and follow your will concerning my life henceforth by your grace, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
 
REFLECTION: “For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience” (COLOSSIANS 3:6 KJV).
