TITLE: NEW LIFE WITH NEW RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:23-24 KJV: “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

Brethren, as we have been set free and given a new life, we are expected to walk in the newness of life given to us in all our ways by Christ Jesus. As we know, a new life comes with new thinking, new responsibilities, new actions, new character, new behavior, etc). Our Lord Jesus Christ after His baptism on earth was given new responsibilities, and He expects His children to be like Him after they have been saved, to put on the new man which is in Christ Jesus and walk in the fullness of Him who saved them. LUKE 4:13-14 KJV

Beloved, we are not renewed to remain the way we were, but to return with full power to God and with great enthusiasm to do His perfect will in righteousness and holiness. Our Lord Jesus Christ, even though was God in the form of man, opened the Scriptures according to Luke 4:17 and found what was written concerning Him. Now, since you got saved, have you searched the scriptures with the help of the Holy Spirit to find out what is written concerning you? Have you, through prayers, sought to know what you ought to do for God that will guarantee you fulfilling His will concerning your life? LUKE 4:17-19 KJV

We are saved to save others. As new people of Christ, it is our responsibility to work as Christ worked, by taking the gospel to those who are lost in the world. It is our duty as children of the kingdom of Light to shine the light of Christ to those who are in darkness and deliver them to Christ, heal the brokenhearted, deliver those who are held bound, etc. All these can only be done when we are renewed in the fullness of Christ and walking as children of light. MATTHEW 5:14 KJV

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, please help me to fulfill all my responsibilities as a new person in Christ, so that when the roll shall be called up yonder, I will be there, in Jesus Christ’s Mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him” (Colossians 3:10 KJV).
