TITLE: REACHING OUT TO OTHERS WITH CHRIST-LIKE LOVE

KEY TEXT: Matthew 6:19 KJV: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal."

The foundation of the Christian faith is love. Everything that was done for the redemption of mankind was as a result of the love that God had for humanity. The message of Christ during His earthly ministry was centred on godly love. Beloved in Christ, no one can prove to know God if he or she has no godly love in his or her heart for mankind. Every genuine Christian must possess the mind of Christ, and this could only be achieved by seeing others as Christ sees them. You are not a true believer if you could still do hurtful things to others or hurt others without considering how it would be if it were done to you. You are no better than a demon if you could watch others cry without feeling their pain. Matthew 22:39 KJV 

Love is all about reaching out to others in need. Most people who die by committing suicide is as a result of not having people around them that could show them love. We are all alive today, and some of us who are born again is as a result of the love Jesus Christ extended to us. We were all on our way to eternal damnation to face the wrath of God because of our sins, but the love of God, through Jesus Christ, saved us by grace. We were forgiven and justified freely by the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ. So, we are expected to have the same mind to forgive our offenders and love them as we were forgiven and loved by God. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

HOW MUCH ARE YOU READY TO GIVE OUT? Most believers are only interested in what they would gain from others and not what they could give. The life of Jesus Christ while He was on earth was all about giving. He so much gave that He gave Himself to be the propitiation for the redemption of mankind. Jesus Christ expects us to live the life of sacrificial giving, but many believers only want to be on the receiving end. Most people who are rich are using their riches to intimidate others instead of using it to bless others. In all, extend the free gift of salvation you have to others by giving yourself to the work of evangelism. Make it a duty to win souls into God's Kingdom by telling others about Jesus Christ. You must be genuinely born again. 1 John 4:7 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord God, have mercy and forgive me, in any way I have been thinking of myself only and taking others as nothing. Let the mind of Christ be given to me, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: "And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing" (1 Corinthians 13:2 KJV).
