TITLE: JESUS CHRIST DESERVES TO BE REMEMBERED

KEY TEXT: Matthew 26:67-68 KJV, "Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?"

Dear brother/sister, in reference to the title of today’s Divine Inspiration, the issue is not so much remembering Jesus but in how you remember Him. Are you remembering Him to shame Him and nail Him to the cross again? Some people remember Him by drinking alcohol and doing many things as they do during Christmas season. Are you remembering Him in iniquity, to cause Him more pain and to mock Him again? Are you remembering Him with your heart full of envy, jealousy, and everything the devil has planted in there? Isaiah 53:3 KJV

REMEMBER HIM TO ELEVATE HIM MORE: Are you remembering Him to be closer to Him or to be further separated from Him? How you remember Him matters a lot to Him. The world also remembers Him in their own way to mock Him more. The sinners also remind Him of what He went through to tell Him all He suffered was in vain. Matthew 27:1-4 KJV

JESUS CHRIST OPENLY SUFFERED: Jesus Christ did not hide His face from shame and spitting, but today many believers are ashamed of Him. We ask, “How can I stop wearing trousers and putting on make-up as a woman? Is that not a shame to me? How can I be in Europe and start living as somebody in the village? How can I be watching women like me go from place to place being celebrated, wearing the latest make-up and I behaving like an old woman? How can I be on the streets for evangelism? Will I not be ashamed?” Well, Jesus Christ was never ashamed of you and I. He took the humiliation and frustration. He willingly gave His face to be spat on, His cheeks to be slapped, His back to be whipped, etc. You and I must willingly give ourselves to God and do His will. Isaiah 50:6 KJV

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, please have mercy on me, wherever I have been ashamed of you and have mocked you, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.” (Isaiah 53:4 KJV).
