TITLE: DOING EVIL BUT EXPECTING KINDNESS

KEY TEXT: “And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise” (Luke 6:31 KJV).

We are living in a world that is almost irreversibly upside down. It is as if time and human reasoning are now working anticlockwise. When God says to do good, human beings will do evil, and when the Word of God says one should be godly or holy, that is when the people would rebel and go deeper into worldliness. The Christians of this generation actually think it takes living in sin and iniquity to make it to Heaven, whereas the believers of old strove in holiness against sin to enter the Kingdom of God. Mark 12:31 KJV

MANY FORGET THE PRINCIPLE OF REAPING WHAT YOU SOW: The Word of God is final and the Scripture cannot be broken for anyone. Jesus Christ Himself said we should do to others what we expect them to do to us. Many want to be loved and cared for when their own hearts are full of wickedness and evil, hurting people, breaking people’s homes, yet expecting to have joyful lives and enjoy peaceful marriages. It is baffling to see wicked people wanting to be blessed and to be worshipped by others, but love to see others like them suffering and living in abject poverty. They are happy to see others oppressed and frustrated. Their minds are so devilish that they would do anything in their power to pull down anyone who is ahead of them. They forgot that God is a rewarder of every one according to his or her works. Luke 6:27 KJV

WORK ON YOUR MINDSET: Are you the type who loves to pull others down in a bid to climb, backstab to gain favour, and one who always plans evil against his or her neighbour, but expects God to bless you? Well, you might succeed in using your wickedness to gain anything in this world ruled by the devil, but the wages of sin and wickedness, which is eternal death is waiting for you in the land of no return. No evil done unrepentantly will go unpunished here on earth and in hellfire at last. Are you the type who wants to see others happy, doing your best to be a blessing? Keep it up; you are only sowing seeds that will definitely germinate, grow, and bear fruit unto eternal life, with other blessings following you that will make people take you as a role model. Remember, you must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God. James 2:8 KJV

PRAYER: Lord, I repent of the lifestyle of sowing evil and hoping to reap good. Have mercy on me and uproot all the seeds that I ever sowed in sin, as I receive your mindset, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal” (1 Corinthians 13:1 KJV).
