TITLE: HOW GENUINE ARE YOU?

KEY TEXT: “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and truth” (1 John 3:18 KJV).

Heaven would have been full of lots of hypocrites and false Christians if God was a man. Man is easily deceived by the words of mouth, which is why Nigerian politicians do what they do. They would come to the electorate with false promises of what they would never do just to get their votes. They will be nowhere to be found after winning elections until it is time to be voted for again. However, God knows the heart of the person making promises. No one can deceive God with lip service or false love. Proverbs 4:24 KJV

HOW REAL ARE YOU? The key text is admonishing all believers to let our love be proven by our actions. But most believers only know how to love in words, and not in deeds. The same is happening in most families. Some families love one another only by saying it but forsake one another when a situation arises to prove their love for one another. Some only love when they are on the receiving end. That is why one cannot tell who truly loves you when you are rich or in a position of influence. Most people that come around are only there for their selfish interests. You can be abandoned immediately when the position or money is gone. Only a very few love unconditionally as directed by the Word of God. I want you to reevaluate that love you profess to that brother or sister. Are you genuine or deceiving yourself? Proverbs 10:32 KJV

FOOL AT LAST: Hypocrites and lips service individuals always think they are wise. They think they are fooling the other person in their foolish heart. How can one be a labourer in hypocrisy in the house of God when he or she knows that the result is to be told by Jesus Christ, “O fool, depart l know you not!” There is always a day of reaping for every seed sown by anyone, either good or bad. There is always a reward for sincerity and falsehood. Hypocrisy or lip service only has a short-term benefit with an eternal damnable consequence in the end. My beloved of God, walk out of that false relationship of hypocritical service and amend your ways and be real to yourself so that you will not end up as a fool in hellfire. Sincerity is painful but gainful. It is better to be hated by man for being sincere than to be hated by God for falsehood. Love and serve God sincerely and keep your soul safe for eternal life. Ephesians 4:15 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, please have mercy and forgive me for all my falsehood and hypocritical life that I have lived in the past. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 1:4 KJV).
