TITLE: ARE YOU COVENANTED WITH THE LOVE OF GOD?
 
KEY TEXT: “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry” (Hebrews 10:36-37 KJV).
 
All the saints that walked with God and worked for Him faithfully and ended up in Heaven, were all genuinely in love with God. Not only were they called and empowered, but they also deliberately entered into a covenant with the love of God, hence, no force of discouragement could pull them from walking with God. Apostle Paul could boldly say, “Who would separate him from the love of God?” It was proven that nothing could pull him down. The primary reason most Christians easily give up on the race to Heaven is because they have not made Heaven their main goal in their minds, and the love of God has no root in them. It is written: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Romans 8:35-36 KJV 
 
WHAT IS YOUR DECLARATION? Apostle Paul had a convincing personal declaration. He stood by it and finished by saying that he fought a good fight of faith and won the race (2 Timothy 4:7-8). Do you have a personal, motivating declaration that keeps you going no matter the opposing forces? The only way a believer will not drop out of the race when the going gets tougher is to make a covenant with the love of God. The more God’s love is in one’s heart, the more steadfast he or she will become. This can only be done by having a personal encounter or relationship with God. Your salvation will not stand the test of time if you are a push-start Christian. A believer who always needs someone to push him or her before  doing what is right before God, will definitely fall out if a positive change is not made quickly. Galatians 6:9 KJV 

YOU MUST NOT BE PUSHED TO DO GOD’S WORK: Jesus Christ was not paid or forced by anyone to die for you, so why would you be forced to serve Him or to walk with Him and work for Him? Beloved of God, many forces have been set in motion by the devil to stop or discourage you and I from following Jesus Christ, but we have individual choices to make, either to bow or remain steadfast.  Remember how Jesus Christ refused to be discouraged when He came to die for us. Why not remember the glory that awaits you in Heaven and bear whatever you are going through right now? Be strong and courageous, because your labour for Christ has a great reward of eternal glory. 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV 
 
PRAYER: O Lord God, grant me the grace to overcome every force of discouragement in my journey to Heaven, as I enter into an unbroken covenant with your love today, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
 
REFLECTION: “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7 KJV).
