TITLE: DO NOT FORGET TO RESPOND WITH “IT IS WRITTEN”

Key Text: “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve” (Matthew 4:10 KJV).

Jesus Christ did not confront Satan with the power of “I bind you” when He was tempted in the wilderness after forty days and forty nights of fasting and prayer. He knew that there was a time to bind and a time to say, “It is written.” The time of trials and temptation is mostly not the time to bind and loose, but a time to apply the power of “it is written.” Jesus Christ was tempted by the devil with the things of this world. Satan told Jesus Christ to bow down and worship him, promising to give Him the glory of the world, after showing Him all the kingdoms of this world with their glory and riches. Glory be to God that Jesus Christ knew the limit of the things of this world. He knew that Satan cannot give anything good to anyone. Satan has no power over what God has not given him power over. So, He refused to bow down and worship the devil. He told the devil that it is written we shall not worship any creation, except God Almighty, the Creator. Luke 4:6-8 KJV

STRIVE TO BECOME LIKE YOUR MASTER: Every apprentice is supposed to be like his or her master, according to Jesus Christ in Luke 6:40. The believers of today call Jesus Christ their Master, but they are totally different from Jesus Christ in all things. When Jesus Christ saw the riches of this world and refused to bow to them, many ministers of God are by their own selves going to Satan to submit their souls to him because of the same glory and riches Christ refused. What a disappointment! The word “It is written” is totally lost from the mouths of so many called ministers of the gospel and their members. Their followers are in danger of hellfire because they have refused to learn the ways of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Master. Mark 8:36-37 KJV

IT IS NOT TOO LATE: Beloved in Christ, you could retrace your steps back to God. I do not know where you have bowed down to Satan. Satan might not have tempted you with big things as was the case of Jesus Christ, but that little compromise to lie, take bribes, defraud, visit false pastors, submit forged documents to get a job, prostitute yourself for money, etc., has made you bow down to the devil, and you will end up in hellfire for serving another god if you do not repent and restitute where necessary. God will have mercy on us all, in any way we have bowed knowingly or unknowingly, and help us to stand firm in His Word henceforth. Exodus 20:3 KJV

Prayer: O Lord, have mercy and forgive me, in any way I have bowed down and worshipped satan. I repent today and return to you, my God. Open my eyes to see where I need to do restitute and empower me to do it, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

Reflection: “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” (Luke 16:13 KJV).
