TITLE: FULFILLED BUT ETERNALLY LOST

KEY TEXT: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” ( Mark 8:36 KJV).

Many have decided to go the way of the rich man in Luke 16:19-32. It is recorded that the rich man was wealthy, lacking nothing. He had enough that his dog had leftovers for poor Lazarus. It could be that he was the pride of the family, because his five brothers were benefactors of his wealth. He was fulfilled in life in the eyes of man, but was a waste of creation eternally. He was condemned while he was yet enjoying the proceeds of iniquity. Many children are taught by their parents to pursue their destinies right from birth. Parents want to see their children fulfilled in life, and most children want to see that their parents are proud of them. All these are very good and advisable, but not to the detriment of one’s soul. A lot of people use their lifetime pursuing careers from one degree to the other. Many travel from one country to the other studying, some go from one business trip to the other, labouring for the wind, and many have died and the wind carried all their labor away while they are eternally lost. Proverbs 14:12 KJV 

SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD: What is your utmost priority in life? Are you one of those career pursuers who forget to fight their way into Christ? Are you also telling Jesus Christ to wait until you have gotten all you needed to have in life? Has life told you all you needed, and you are really ready to pursue all? It means you will have to pursue them into the grave, because one thousand years is not enough for one to pursue and get hold on all that the world has to offer a man. Not withstanding, so many people actually thought they had their destinies fulfilled outside Christ (wealthy business men and women, professors in different disciplines, well honored politicians to name but a few). They enjoyed the world to the fullest at the expense of their souls. They did everything to keep their names in their families, communities, and country's temporary book of records, but forgot they were heading to eternity of no return in hellfire. Revelation 20:15 KJV 

IS YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE?: Many souls in hellfire today had their names written in Guinness World Record and other international record systems for their achievements, but they totally forgot to get their names written in the Lamb's Book of Life. They were temporarily fulfilled and celebrated, but are eternally lost and wasted. What about you reading this message? Are you doing everything to see your temporal destiny fulfilled but neglecting your eternal destination? Reconsider your ways and give your life to Jesus Christ before it is eternally too late for you. Do not be a wasted creation. Your soul must not return to where it was not created to be. God is expecting you in Heaven and not in hellfire. So, run away from all appearances of sin and keep yourself holy unto God. Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJV, Mark 8:37 KJV 

Prayer: O Lord, my God, have mercy upon me and forgive me of all my wasted years of pursuing vanity. Please, grant me the grace to live for you in holiness henceforth, that I might gain my eternal place of rest in Heaven, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

Reflection: “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it” (Mark 8: 35 KJV).
