TITLE: THE NEGLECTED FREE BUT COSTLY GIFT

Key Text: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36 KJV).

Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, is asking everyone living on earth the question in the key text. In case you did not get the question, The Lord is asking you in particular that “what shall it profit you if you shall gain the whole world and lose your soul in hellfire?” Everyone on earth has been given a specific gift to beautify and add meaning to his or her life. An individual would have lived a wasted life without fulfilling the purpose for which he or she was been created. Hence, each person must strive very hard not to lose his or her gift. Jesus Christ left His exalted throne in Heaven and came to earth, to give that free but costly gift to humanity. Unfortunately, humanity has rejected such a gift for the pursuit of the temporary pleasure of this world, neglecting the free gift from God that will give them a place in eternity in Heaven. John 3:16 KJV

DO YOU HAVE THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION?: No one living on earth is safe without salvation. You are really not safe, no matter the physical security around you. Have you been able to answer the question now, “What will it profit you, if you gain the whole world, and lose your soul?” Beloved in Christ, the reality is that, whether poor or rich you will end up in hellfire without Jesus Christ in your life. Salvation through Jesus Christ is the only sure way to eternal life in Heaven (John 14:6). May I ask you, are you saved? Is your salvation genuine? Are you living the life worthy of living with Jesus Christ in Heaven? Have you not mortgaged your right to eternal life for the pleasures of sin? Remember, the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God (Salvation) is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 KJV

DON'T MORTGAGE YOUR SOUL FOR ANYTHING: Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, paid the costly price for the restoration of your soul with His own blood. There is no costlier price to pay for the redemption of humanity than what Jesus Christ has already paid for you. Even the money in the whole world put together CANNOT buy the soul of a baby in the womb. It is a pity most people love the perishable things of this world more than their own precious souls. Are you, the reader of this message, genuinely saved and living your life to please Christ? If yes, keep it up. Although, it may be painful to live such a lifestyle in this world of chronic wickedness with many things trying to draw your attention to the things of the world, do not give attention to them and please do not give up. Your salvation to enter God's kingdom is nearer than when you started. But if you are not yet saved and have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, do so now while you still can. Tomorrow may be too late. Romans 13:11KJV

PRAYER: My Father and my God, have mercy upon me and restore my soul if I have mortgaged my salvation for the perishable, material things of this perishing world unknowingly. Please, grant me the grace to be heavenly-conscious henceforth, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever” (1 John 2:15-17 KJV).
