TITLE: YOU MUST BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS

KEY TEXT: “And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong” (Zechariah 8:13 KJV).

There are lots of unfulfilled destinies in the grave. Many who are dead and in the mortuary (or graves) are people that God Himself had plans for. God spoke about them, and He wanted to work in them, with them, and through them, yet they died with unutilized potential. Prophecies and pronouncements from God Himself are lying down in the grave, covered with dirt, never ever to be used again. Their time and period of usefulness has expired, and the spirit has returned to Him (God) who gave it, and the body has returned to the ground where it was taken from, while the soul has gone to where the lifestyle of the individual sent it to (Heaven or hell). Now, I ask you, where could the soul of one who wasted God’s resources go? Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJV

WOULD GOD’S INVESTMENT GO UNFULFILLED?: God promised to save the house of Judah and make them a blessing (according to the key text), but God did not stop at the promise but told them to fear not and let not their hands be weak. What do you think would happen if they had refused to do what they were supposed to do because of fear? God could decide to give someone a blessing that needs to be fought for before getting it, and he or she might lose the blessing if he or she refuses to contend for it because of fear, even if God has given it. It is written: ”Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle” (Deuteronomy 2:24 KJV). You can now see that God could bless someone, but the person could still die in poverty when he or she refuses to rise and contend with the adversaries. Joshua 1:9 KJV

YOU MUST BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS: Anyone with a great destiny or is an instrument in God's hands must be strong and fearless. The reason that most people are not what God wants them to be is fear of opposition. There are many things God has done in MSRPM that would not have been done if I had listened to the fearful and discouraging voice of men. The fearful, weak, natural man cannot venture into what God wants to do through him. Some things might be too dreadful and dangerous to do, considering the deadly opposition that would arise, like in the case when Nehemiah was instructed by God to build the wall in Jerusalem. There was strong opposition, but Nehemiah was strong and courageous (Nehemiah 4). Do you want to fulfill your God-given destiny? You must make your hands strong and your heart like a lion in total obedience to the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 41:10 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, my God, deliver me from the spirit of fear and weakness that have hindered me from doing what I would have done to glorify you. Have mercy on me for all the disappointment and shame I have brought to your holy name because of fear. I receive a fearless and courageous spirit to work for you and walk with you until the end, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV).
