TITLE: THE GENERATION OF PEOPLE WITH FAST-LANE LIFESTYLES

KEY TEXT: “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent” (Proverbs 28:20 KJV).

It is true we are living in an era of technological advancement (technology age), where knowledge has tremendously increased and almost everything is moving at a speed that never existed before. People are in so much of a hurry, and patience has lost its value in the lives of most people. Some motivational preachers teach people how to bypass God in order to make things workout for them at a fast pace. God no longer has a say in the lives of most believers. Most people, believers inclusive, are now the architects and interpreters of their lives and destinies. Isaiah 40:31 KJV 

MANY RUSHED THEIR SOULS INTO HELL: It is so sad that the Scriptures mean nothing to most believers anymore. The Bible says that there is a time and season for everything, but most youths today have totally forgotten the use of time. Many have turned the time they could have used to study and plan for their future into a time of money-making. This has rushed so many into rituals, involving themselves into many dubious things, just to get rich at the wrong time. Thus, fast-forwarding many to the grave. Most youths are being tormented, having sleepless nights because of what they involved themselves in, trying to fast-forward their lives. Mark 8:36-37 KJV 

LET THE WORD OF GOD LEAD YOU: Everything on earth might change; men may turn themselves into robots in order to add speed to their abilities or the government may try to make people fast-track themselves with all kinds of inventions, but the Word of God remains the same. God does things at His own timing; He has a time and season for everything. It is written: “Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste” (Isaiah 28:16 KJV). You must overcome the spirit of rushing and impatience if you must walk with God and succeed (learn to work with God's timing, for His timing is the best). Romans 12:2 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord God, have mercy on me, in any way I have fast-forwarded my life and destiny, leaving so many things behind unfulfilled. Please forgive me and grant me the grace to walk patiently with you till the end of time, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.  

REFLECTION: “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” (Psalm 27:14 KJV).
