TITLE: MAN HAS LITTLE TIME ON EARTH

KEY TEXT: “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away” (James 4:14 KJV).

If only man knew what Satan knows, he would apply himself unto wisdom and live his life with utmost care and in the fear of his Maker. However, it is unfortunate that the issue or mystery of death and eternity are hidden from man. Though man pretends to know he will die someday and that there are places called Heaven and hell in eternity, he is totally ignorant of what happens during and after death. Man is also unaware of the shortness of his lifespan on earth, else he would live to secure his place in the world without end in Heaven. Hebrews 9:27 KJV 

MAN DOES NOT UNDERSTAND: As I earlier said in my opening statement that if only man knew what Satan knows, man would be extremely careful to live everyday as if it was his last. “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time” (Revelation 12:12 KJV). The Bible says that the devil is having great wrath because his time is short, hence, he is doing all he can to drag many souls to hell. Unfortunately, man does not know how short his time is. If he knew, he would also have great wrath against sin and iniquity, fighting day and night to escape the wrath of God by living for Jesus Christ's glory daily in holiness. Sadly, man is living a carefree lifestyle, as if he has all eternity to himself on earth. Luke 13:23-24 KJV 

YOUR JOURNEY ON EARTH WILL END SOON: Beloved of God, Apostle Emmanuel Osezele is not wishing you an untimely death; far be it. The truth is, you have little time in life before you face the eternity of your choice: Heaven or hell. God has given man a 120-year lifespan on earth according to Genesis 6:3. You could see how short your time is, even if you have 80 or 90 years left to live. The whole lifespan of man is but a few days, talk less of you who has already spent some of your lifespan. Begin to amend your ways now, live your life with eternity in mind, fear God, flee from all appearance of sin, humble yourself, and live joyfully. Remember, you must be genuinely born again to enter God’s Kingdom. Psalm 90:10 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord God, please have mercy on me and forgive me for ever living my life as if I had all eternity to myself on earth. I now realize how short my time is before I must present my account to you. Grant me the grace to live a life worthy of eternity with you in Heaven, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. 

REFLECTION: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV).
