TITLE: ARE YOU STILL ABOUNDING IN GOD'S WORK?

KEY TEXT: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV).

Those who God has shown mercy to and decided to employ them in one office or another in His vineyard is not because they were qualified to do the job, but it was by the grace and mercy of God that one was given the opportunity to work with or for God. In fact, no one by his or her human merits is qualified to do God’s work. The natural ability of man is an inability in the sight of God. The wisdom of man is complete foolishness before God. It is written: “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are” 1 Corinthians 1:26-28 KJV

MANY HAVE GIVEN UP THEIR HONOURABLE DUTIES: Most believers who Jesus Christ used to boast about in the presence of His saints and holy angels and were once celebrities in Heaven because of their love and passion for God and His work, have suddenly turned their backs on Heaven and God because of offences and situations. Many have suddenly become weak and sickly in the faith. Those who used to encourage the weak and strengthen the strong have become like vehicles that have dead batteries that must be charged and pushed every time before they can move. Many former, hard-working believers have lost the joy of service unto God, which is the driving force of faithful, fruitful service unto God, and holy living. Have you made up your mind to render service unto God? Please keep your duty and let nothing or no one take your crown from the habit of self-encouragement. Your labour is not in vain. Revelation 3:11 KJV

YOU ARE PRIVILEGED: I do not know what you are doing in the genuine vineyard of God. You are very valuable and favoured. Use all your might to do the work you are doing for your Father, your God. Remember, you are working for the Most High, the Owner of the universe. Be proud of your work for Him, even if you are an usher or a dishwasher in the house of God. You are more valuable and respected in Heaven than a president of a nation, who does not know God. Remember, the least in Heaven is greater than the greatest on earth. Let no one or a situation discourage you. Those who did the same job before you are resting in Heaven. Your time of rest is coming, too. Ecclesiastes 9:10 KJV

PRAYER: My Father and my God, please have mercy on me, in any way I ever took my work for you carelessly. I am sorry for not being steadfast and effective as you expected me to be. I receive the grace to make you proud all the days of my life. May my place in your Kingdom never be given to another person, as I surrender to your perfect will, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9 KJV).
