TITLE: GODLY CONTENTMENT IS DEMANDED 

KEY TEXT: “Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith” (Proverbs 15:16 KJV).
 
What are we actually labouring for in this world? What do we really want to achieve? When will you actually achieve all you seek to achieve? It is said that human wants are insatiable. Humans can never get to a level of contentment where they could say that it is okay now, as long as the things of this world are concerned. They are always looking for more and more. A man could have a hundred billion dollars in his account and still be chasing after ten dollars outside, just to make it a hundred billion and ten dollars. That is the infinite work the devil has given to those without genuine salvation and the love of the Cross of Christ in their lives. MARK 8:36-37 KJV 

Jesus Christ Himself has told us the basic needs of life and counselled us, saying, “... Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:15 KJV). He said that a man's life is not in the abundance of his possessions, but the devil has deceived many people, believers inclusive, to work themselves up in trying to gain everything in the world, forgetting they will someday leave all the things we met in this world for others after us. PROVERBS 16:8 KJV 

It may surprise you to know that the little things you have with satisfaction is way better compared to some people who have a lot of things that cause them grief all the days of their lives. Always learn to be satisfied with the little you have. There are times you could have extra things and they could take the precious time you are supposed to use to the glory of God for irrelevant things. This could even hinder your eternity in Heaven in the long run. No wonder the Bible says that in everything give thanks. PROVERBS 15:16 KJV

PRAYER: O Lord, please have mercy on me and forgive me for not being content with what you have blessed me with. Grant me the grace to always be satisfied with your blessings in my life, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
