TITLE: THE IMPERATIVES OF WATCHING AND PRAYING 

KEY TEXT: “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” (Luke 21:36 KJV).

The Scripture above is a warning from our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. With this Scripture, I questioned myself if I was worthy to escape all that is going to befall humanity on earth and stand before the Son of God in glory. We have been commanded to watch and pray always. Here goes the question: How often do I pray? Am I not too busy to pray? Am I really watching as I should? Precious one, it hurts me so much that Muslims, who have no hope of the rapture, are the ones adhering to this very Scripture. They work tirelessly and pray five times a day to a dead god that they do not know if he even exists. Most so-called Christians are so lazy, busy doing nothing. Some of us, instead of using our precious time to pray, we use it to gossip, lie, backbite, and so on, yet hope to make it in the rapture. Luke 21:34-35 KJV

ARE YOU TRULY READY FOR THE RAPTURE? There will be no special preferences for anyone on the day of rapture. We must prepare ourselves now if we must be accounted worthy of the rapture. Watching over your soul and praying is always the key. An instance is when our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, instructed the Apostles to watch and pray, so that they would not fall into temptation before His arrest. They did not obey His instruction and were not able to stand when the time of temptation came. They all fled and left Jesus all alone, even Peter, who tried to pray with Him, followed Him from a distance and betrayed Him at the end. Mark 14:27-72 KJV

REPAIR YOUR PRAYER ALTAR NOW: It is a pity that many Christians do not even remember to pray anymore. It is written that our Lord, Jesus Christ, prayed all night. He was not praying against demonic attacks or to get an appointment or job opportunity. He was praying for the ministry and the work He was sent to do by His Father. Jesus Christ prayed His way through. Please, go back to your altar of prayer and repair it. Afterwards, switch into action for effectual fervent prayer to overcome what is about to befall humanity. May God help everyone of us watch and pray, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. Luke 17:34-37 KJV 

PRAYER: Father, please take away every form of distraction from me. Grant me the grace to watch and pray always, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
