TITLE: REDEEMED TO AVOID ETERNAL BONDAGE 

Key Text: "And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers" (Deuteronomy 6:23 KJV ) .

What a disappointment to God Almighty after sending his only begotten Son to die for mankind, knowing that so many believers, are ignorant of the reason God Almighty allowed His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, pay such a costly, and painful price; which is to bring humanity out of the bondage of darkness, into His marvellous light. There is absolutely no reason for being saved if one is not ready to get to heaven. We could relate this to the children of Israel having no business getting out of Egypt since they were not ready to face the journey into Canaan Land. It is frightening to know that some believers have concluded in their minds that heaven is a no go area for them, therefore, they have decided to settle for what life in Christ could offer here on earth. Take a look at what the Apostle with the help of the Holy Spirit has to say of such people: If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. (1 Corinthians 15:19). Imagine how melancholic it would be for those who use all their precious time to work for themselves, using what this world would offer all in the name of Pastor, Apostle, Prophet, Bishop, etc. How regrettable it would be to see how foolish you were to have lived your life for earthly benefits and go to hell at the end. Romans 6:23 KJV

THE WORST BONDAGE IS AHEAD: We often refer to Egypt as being in bondage. Do you know that the worst bondage in this world is the damnation to hellfire? Unbelievably, so many Christians that once celebrated their freedom from Egypt while they were on earth, died, and found themselves in eternal Egypt of destruction in hellfire. They were not mindful of the pain they went through while in Egypt before Jesus Christ saved them just as the Word of God says, "Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. (1 Corinthians 10:7). Are you not also rising up, to eat, drink, and play? Have you forgotten what the Word of God says, "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost? (Romans 14:17). Please, don't eat up, sleep up, or play up your chances of making it to heaven. You will never gain it again if you lose heaven for hellfire. Hebrews 9:27 KJV 

NO TRUE FREEDOM ON EARTH: No matter how free you might think you are in this dark world, you are not truly free until you have made it to heaven. No believer on earth could be more sure of the freedom that salvation brings than the Apostles of Jesus Christ. Moreover, in John 14:1-3; Jesus Christ, consoled them saying not to allow their hearts to be troubled. He reassured them that as much as they believe in the Father, they should equally believe in Him. He promised them that He was going to prepare a place for them in heaven. A place where they could actually enjoy the true freedom, and joy that Christ brings. In other words, He is indirectly telling them there is nothing to settle down for here on earth. Have you gone out of Egypt? Be watchful and careful, you don't find yourself in Egypt, where you could never be saved again for eternity. Once again you have no business crossing the Red Sea if you are not ready to cross over the Wilderness to Canaan Land. Please, accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour if you are not yet born again. John 3:3 KJV 

PRAYER: O Lord my God, let heaven be my focus as you have set me free from darkness. May I not die in the wilderness of life, in Jesus mighty name, amen.

REFLECTION: Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. 1 Peter 2:11 KJV
